Apr 24 Goode Thoughts - the three Cs
Good afternoon friends! Earler this week we celebrated Earth Day and as Scout and I walked several times that day, I gave thanks for this beautiful world that we all share. That morning, one of our page a day calendars had this reminder of one dog's thoughts on Earth Day. A cute and simple but profound reminder of all of our responsibilities towards being stewards of this planet.
C #1 - Community Dinner
Tonight is our Mission Team's next community dinner! Starting at 5pm and going until 7pm. It is open to anyone and everyone in the community - from people involved at RJC to people who have never heard of us (which means we'll need to invite them!). If you are able to help with serving just show up and say "how can I help?" or just show up to eat and be with the community that gathers!
And just a hint towards the summer...be ready to hear more about "bigger tables" as this will be our focus for the summer - the stories of Jesus at tables and meals with people and how we can build a similar sense of community together.

C #2 - Clean Out
We had a terrific group get a LOT of terrific work done last Saturday and we have one more clean out day tomorrow starting at 9am. The goal for this Saturday is to get the storage POD cleaned out so it can go back to the company and we stop paying for it! We'd love to have your help in getting this next step taken care of in our ministry together! Thanks for helping out!
C #3 - Congregational Meeting and a Really Unusual Sermon
This Sunday we will have a brief congregational meeting immediately following the worship service for the purpose of electing our first "full" Board of Deacons and Ruling Elders for Session! It shouldn't be a lengthy meeting - just the report of the team, opening for nominations from the floor, and then voting. So please plan to stay for the meeting.
Also, this Sunday will have a fairly unusual sermon. It is one unlike any other that I've done here. It came as a bit of what felt like Spirit-led sermonic inspiration on Monday... Our focus this week is the stained glass window with the symbol of the Trinity - this symbol's official name is Matilda...oops not Matilda... the official name for this symbol is a Triqueta... More to come on Sunday

Finally, if you need a bit of a moment of zen, quiet, stillness, prayer...here's a moment for you. I videoed this looking over the dam at the newly reopened Sharon Woods. I was mesmerized by the movement of the surface fog - felt like what we read from Genesis of the Spirit hovering over the deep... Soak it in friends!
