3/21 Quick Updates - OGHS, Holy Week, Easter Eggs, and more
3/21 Quick Updates
Good afternoon friends! I just wanted to get a few quick reminders out to y'all before tomorrow (Sunday morning), so this won't go into great detail about any of the items below but just some quick reminders.
One Great Hour of Sharing Special Offering - We will be collecting the OGHS special offering tomorrow and on 3/29. So if you feel so led to participate in a special offering (and I hope you do), you can do that with the envelopes at RJC and online on the app/website.
Offering Envelopes - For those who requested offering envelopes, they have arrived and are in the Gathering Area for pickup with your names on them. There are also new RJC offering envelopes in the pews!
Easter Egg Hunt - 3/28 at 2pm - 1500 eggs are going to be hidden around the church on the 28th! Kids up to 5th grade are invited! What friends, neighbors, children, grandchildren, or even strangers can you invite!
Holy Week at RJC - We begin Holy Week a week from tomorrow. We'll have Palm Sunday worship at RJC on Sunday the 29th, Maundy Thursday at RJC on Thursday the 2nd at 7pm, and Good Friday at Grosebeck Church on the 3rd at 7pm. Easter Sunday wil be at 10:30 on the 5th at RJC.
Ministry Night Date Change - Because of it being during Holy Week, the Session voted to change the April Ministry Night to Wednesday, April 8 rather than April 1. Please note this for your planning.
Pillar of Truth Ethiopian Congregation - You'll see more details about this in the next ReSounds but because of challenges that the congregation has had in finding a new location to meet, the Session has agreed to extend their time at RJC through the end of June or whenever they find a new location. In April, they will continue to meet at on their normal schedule but in May and June, the Session has shared that they will need to begin meeting in the afternoon. If you are aware of congregations or places that we can share with them to look into, please let me know.
Finally, you'll probably hear lots more about this from me in the coming weeks, but if you are looking for a movie to see, go see Project Hail Mary. It is an incredible film and one that is just a needed story right now. I cannot recommend it highly enough!
